The Gaia chandelier, the multicolored edition, is an emblem of the 80s postmodern style.
This multicolored version is an extremely rare find. It was designed by Gismondi for Veart, the owner of Artemide, who later merged Veart with Artemide.
This chandelier is connected with Artemide through his designer, Ernesto Gismondi. But Veart was founded by Santillana owner of Venini and the son in law of Paolo Venini. Satillana continued Carlo Scarpa works.
Each arm is in a different color and the designer made the interesting choice of using of 7 arms. There is an 8th bulb inside the base in cobalt and red.
The whole Venexiana collection was designed by Gismondi, Anastasio, La Pietra and many others who represented the equivalent of Memphis in lighting. Quintessential of the 80s.
