We always love seeing how our lighting comes to life in a finished space, and this bedroom in a beautiful Lazy Lane home designed by Houston-based Melanie Austin really caught our eye. Melanie has a true talent for blending a home’s inherent character with her clients’ personal style, creating rooms that are both sophisticated and totally comfortable for the whole household.
For this project, she selected our Eight-Arm Brass Chandelier with Ivory Heads. While we often see this midcentury-inspired piece anchoring large dining rooms, Melanie proved it makes just as stunning of a statement in a bedroom. The natural, solid brass arms and spun aluminum ivory shades look fantastic against the room’s layered textures and the rich, patterned bed.
What makes this fixture work so well in a bedroom setting is the flexible light distribution. Each shade has a pivoting head that actually holds two bulbs. The smaller upper cones bounce a soft, ambient glow off the ceiling, while the larger lower domes provide direct light exactly where you want it.
We are thrilled to be a part of this project. Melanie’s thoughtful design perfectly highlights the passion for materials and detail we put into every Piattelli Design fixture.
