Pair of Tall Blown faceted Murano table lamps in sommerso deep Amber / Tobacco Color  by Alberto Donà workshop — Maestro Collection

To craft these pieces, the master glassblower gathers a core of deep amber glass and applies an outer layer of clear, high-refraction glass using the sommerso technique. The glass is then mouth-blown into a cast iron mould. Once cooled, each side undergoes a multi-step grinding process to achieve precise edges and a high polish, completed with a final pass of cork and cerium.

The Donà workshop utilizes its own potash–lime glass composition, known for achieving deep color tones and an optical depth.

Part of the Maestro Collection curated by Silvio Piattelli—who has been active in Murano for over fifty years—the designation “Maestro” honors the glassblower who executed the work. Following the Murano custom of shared authorship, each piece is individually signed Alberto Dona.
