A couple of murrina glass hens with coral glass details, a Murano masterpiece. These highly detailed birds from the 50s are a highly sought-after pieces for collectors. Extremely rare, especially considering that this is a pair. I knew about Toni Zuccheri’s works at Venini. Often with bronze base. Made by Luciano Ferro at Avem, the skillful creativity of the maker found the solution of a crystal block to reinforce the legs. Incredible glass execution. The body is made by murrinas in white and clear glass. Tail feathers are instead lattimo and extremely detailed. Coral red opaque head details and base resembling grass. There are some liaison with the white Tacchino from Venini. Battuto technique below the neck.

Base reads and other identifications, references: No signature on the base. The expert Murano glass dealer Tillipan is enlightening us on the origin of the pieces. He reports that they were made either at De Majo or Pagnin. The second seems correct. I found later and had to correct the listing as I found a publication of the exact piece as Luciano Ferro for Avem 1958-62, so much older than the original 90s assesment and, Luciano Ferro and AVEM wrote the history of glass.
