I Bizantini is a curated collection of hand-opened Murano glass tumblers that pays homage to the historic soul of Venice.

The collection takes its name from the magnificent, layered artistry of Byzantine mosaics—capturing the essence of an ancient empire within a contemporary organic silhouette.

Every single tumbler is a unique study in texture, depth, and light, defined by an intricate distribution of glass elements that shifts under the hand.

Created in collaboration with young maestro Dario Frare—known for his detailed sculptures and realistic naturalia reproductions—the fabrication process is intensely tactile. The molten glass is rolled in an argento esterno (exposed silver leaf) technique; left on the outer surface of the glass, the silver undergoes a controlled partial oxidation that transforms its sheen into a deep, warm gold. The colorful macie tociate (glass spots) are then applied asymmetrically, and once hand-opened, Dario introduces an organic irregularity to the hot surface, giving each piece its distinct character.

The current listing features the Emerald and Lagoon Series, characterized by its vibrant, aquatic tones and fluid visual depth. It features a striking blend of rich malachite greens, brilliant chartreuse accents, and a bright, shimmering network of exposed silver leaf.
