Chandelier made using the Gala element designed by Giusto Toso for Fratelli Toso.
The chained elements were used from the 1960 and each company developed his, Vistosi had the Giocali from Mangiarotti, Mazzega had the Nason square element and so on. This one has the particularity and the difficulty of being a blown piece done with the rigadin technique. So it’s lighter but has a great play with light.
I am not sure the hardware is an original Fratelli Toso production, could be a special production for a customized size or made in a second moment on a three tiers round chandelier.
The elements of each tier are overlapping half way with a great shading of the light. The 7 bulbs provide a good amount of light highlighting the rigadin and the shapes of the glass elements. See photos.
There are more than 600 (I counted 618) elements in this chandelier. Really gorgeous.
