We are proud to share that our chandelier, the Monolite, has been featured in AD Magazine as part of one of Milan Design Week 2025’s most talked-about installations: L’Appartamento by Artemest.
Now in its third edition, L’Appartamento returns to Milan Design Week with its signature concept—transforming a historic Milanese space into a series of uniquely styled rooms. This year, the exhibition takes place in the spectacular Palazzo Donizetti, a 19th-century treasure blending Renaissance elegance, Baroque drama, and Liberty charm. The project also marks Artemest’s 10th anniversary, a milestone in its mission to showcase the finest Italian artisanship across furniture, lighting, décor, and more.
Among the six design studios invited to reimagine the interiors of the palazzo, 1508 London stands out with The Entertainment Room—a fresh take on the classic salon, inspired by today’s exclusive members’ clubs. Known globally for their refined residential and hospitality interiors, 1508 London has created a vibrant, welcoming space where creativity and conversation flourish.
Suspended in the center of the room is Piattelli’s Monolite, a chandelier that effortlessly complements the ambiance. Designed by Silvio Piattelli, the Monolite blends timeless materials—brass and hand-selected ivory-toned onyx—into a piece that feels sculptural and serene. The translucent onyx, sourced from Middle Eastern quarries, enhances the warmth and quality of the light, casting an inviting glow.
The chandelier’s rotating onyx shades offer flexibility in design, allowing users to adjust the layout of the arms to create dynamic, personalized arrangements. Coupled with a non-flickering dimmable driver concealed in the canopy, the Monolite is both beautiful and functional—perfect for intimate gatherings and grand entertaining alike.
We are honored that the Monolite has not only been chosen by 1508 London for this extraordinary project, but also recognized in the pages of AD Magazine, a global authority in design and architecture.
